There are several pictures floating around the internet that possess that early digital camera internet archive texture, and they all feature Magic: The Gathering or Yu-Gi-Oh cards. 

When I was at school some spoiled kid in the year above me got sick of his Magic card collection (it's probably not that fun to play cards when you have every card and all your classmates can only afford shitty booster packs). He climbed to the top of the stairwell and screamed “CARD SCRAMBLE” while throwing handfuls of cards into the growing crowd of kids below.
