The giant Pink Floyd pig is a symbol of rock’n’roll, anarchy and protest against the rich and powerful.
The idea came from Roger Waters, co-founder of the band, and it was designed by art collective Hipgnosis, who also created the Led Zeppelin logo and countless other iconic images of rock.
Pink Floyd’s 1977 album ‘Animals’ featured the pig flying over the Battersea Power Station in London, where it eventually got loose and flew high into the atmosphere. Since that day, Pink Floyd brought an inflatable to most of their concerts, and Roger Waters continues the tradition to this day.
Go back and see the floating monstrosity looming over some of the greatest performances from one of the greatest bands of all time.
